Cbeyond the worst nightmare

When you are about to cancel out the service, Cbeyond is using all excuses or reasons to hold you up. I have to call them numerous times on the porting process plus several arguments with them to take care of the business. With the cancellation process, it is the worst nightmare as they told me the cancellation does not count after I spoke with them for over a month on porting out the numbers plus an email sent by Cbeyond asking to see if there is anything they can do to keep us as a customer. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY ANYWAY YOU COULD.

Don't host your website with CBeyond

Really, it's a joke. I'm a web developer and my client has a Cbeyond account that they said came with Web Hosting. They gave me their account login info, and I found that there is absolutely no way to set up web hosting yourself. It requires a request to the company. The online thread lead me to an automated form to request hosting setup. This should normally take about 5 minutes with a company that sells professional web hosting. After 3 days with no response, I called the company and they said the standard response time for online requests was 5 days. So, after processing the request by phone, we waited 3 more days for the hosting account to be created and a login finally provided. In the meantime, I called their tech support department to inquire about how much a SSL Certificate costs. The Tech Support person had no idea what that was, and said that she would forward the question to a higher level support area. Cbeyond should be embarrassed to call themselves a technology company.

International Calls

I work for Real Tech, an international real estate company. Last week, I was on vacation at the beach when my employer sent me a text message informing me he could not place a call to Canada for a phone conference he had scheduled. This is not the first time this has happened. So I called Cbeyond and told them that since we are an international company, we needed to place international calls. I was told that it international calling was dropped from our account since we didn't make that many calls. The "help" desk told me this was done to prevent fraud. I told him to add that feature back on to our account, and I never asked for it to be disabled. He said that's true, but I would have to manually add the feature back to our account using a web interface - that I didn't have access to BECAUSE I WAS AT THE BEACH ON VACATION. Bottom line he would not add it back, my boss was unable to make the call from our landline and had to make a conference call on his cell phone. Unprofessional and COSTLY. I would never recommend this company to anyone. I regret ever signing a contract with them.

CBeyond creates indentured slaves!

I have been a CBeyond customer for many years. I have never been happy with the service but I was locked into a contract which each time a broken cell phone was replaced (and their phones broke on a regular basis) automatically extended. Now I am moving my business from Fremont, CA to Paradise, CA. CBeyond offers no phone service in Paradise, CA. CBeyond will not consider cancelling my contract, accusing me of breaching the contract because I am moving outside of their coverage area. Just got off the phone with the CBeyond service rep who tells me I have no recourse and should move somewhere inside their service area to fix the problem. I have never come across a more Nazi like business practice such as this and I have been in my own business for 40 years!

Robbed!

What I'm realizing is CBeyond makes a living off collections NOT providing the services they promise. Signed up and three months later cancelled due to poor service, failure to respond and over billing. Evey call I made to support (which could not resolve the issues) was followed up with a *** e mail response that the issue was resolved. What a bunch of BS. Now they are harassing me for almost 12 grand!! Filed with the BBB and encouraging anyone I can find to do the same. This company is a scam. I'm all for a class action.Feel free to include me if this proceeds.

You need to force them into arbitration and then call out all the cbeyond employees that you had contact with. The expense of transporting them to Atlanta will not be worth the effort of going after you.

PS the statements they make in their own website was great fodder for my Seattle attorney.

We told them to go for arbitration and we named all the individuals we would subpoena and we never heard from them again. Quiet.evens@***.com

DO NOT GET SERVICE WITH CBEYOND

I was with them for 1.5 months and had to cancel due to their lack of response and empty promises. Had trouble porting over 2 numbers. You talk to the people in front, not the people who are actually working on your account. I would get a different answer with each call.. almost as if they are not looking at the same screen. Sadly... management is no better. I cancelled and am paying more now, but worth it to me as they have no sense of urgency and simply don't care. Will tell you anything to put you off and buy them time. Overall the price seems right, but NOT worth the headache. Monetary damage: TBD

Internet company who doesn't know how to fix the INTERNET!

Im working for online business company and this morning which is the busiest day of the week, the internet and phone service were DOWN. I called them, waited 30min to get connected and filed the problem. they said the Engineer is going to contact me as soon as they find what the problem is, but they didn't.. I called them again after one hour and they said 'THE POLICY' says they just need to contact to customer in 3 hrs, which means I have to wait 2 more hrs to get the answer.. I waited, no call.. I was pissed.. call them again and they still dont know what is wrong with my internet connection!! I'm paying $500 per month to the internet company who doesnt know how fix THE INTERNET!! Now it's been 6 hours and still no sevice! I'm keep losing money!! Ridiculous!!!!!

Biggest scam in the phone industry

CBeyond's nightmare is over. we had to sell the business to get rid of them.

Their phone and internet services are worst and they have no support at all. I can't say anything about home use but for business they will destroy your business.

I am not sure why FCC even allowed them to stay in business until now. I hope to see a class action law suit against them.

We had 4 miserable years with CBeyond they duped us in signing the contract but never delivered. 1- CBeyond don't have their won tech support people who can come to your site to. 2- CBeyound charges were 30% higher than the sales rep quoted 3- We never saw our sales rep after he took our account 4- Their services is not high quality. We lost $5,000 in sales in 2012 due to service outage. The compensated us $116 for entire loss. 5- Very poor customer services - try yourself to find out 6- No technical support for broken hardware, you had to pay from your pocket. 7- They will lock you in contract for 3 years and will charge you thousands of dollars for early discharge. 8- Once you out of contract they will make every possible excuse to create hurdles for phone transfer to new company. 9- They always over charge.

I was a cbeyond customer, who signed a new contract but within that month had 8 hour outages and 66 hours the next week. In their contract this says I am allowed out of my contract.

But.....they can't seem to find my tickets for this time. What a joke. I now get a bill for $11,000.00 which I will not be paying. Sad to say I was a fan of this company but no longer.

NO ONE will speak to me now that they broke their contract. Funny they came and took all their equipment in a minute but still bill us...........insane!!!

Wow! Cbeyond wants to talk to me!

We have been asking for help for 3 years but no action was taken. Ask your customer services about our case, they know us by first name.

However, you have probably several pissed off customers from Seattle area so you won't find out about us. If you know us then contact us via phone.

Ytom255 is correct! We are also in Seattle and have had the identical Nightmare experience AND More!! I have tried to deal w/resolution@***.net and guess what?? There is NO resolution, there is never a resolution...just threats of outrageous "early termination fees" amounting to enough to bankrupt a small business.

If you think you really are that awesome, people would come back right? Or are you afraid that if people leave, they will never return?

I have asked these very questions and been told by Cbeyond customer assurance dept "a contract is a contract". What about my contract you breached Cbeyond, what about your illegal false and deceptive sales tactics? The government seems pretty interested in these illegal practices. I have already filed a complaint w/the FCC and have begun to join with other victims to file a class action lawsuit against this Cbeyond beast.

Confused

i received a call from this company. specifically a tori clark stating that i or my attorney needs to call by 7pm tonite to make a recorded statement. she gave me a case number of 440****. i have never done business with this company. i've never even owned a business. i don't why i'm being contacted or i guess sued. has anyone else had a message like this? i checked the website and the only thing i find is that it is a business communications company. i've been with the same wireless company for over 15 years and we have att for person internet service at home.

Cbeyond- Beware

The sales people at Cbeyond will tell you anythign to get the deal and then fail to come through. Nikki Cooper and Alex Aguirre from Cbeyond sold me phones. The install was a nightmare and the first bill was $1,000 more than promised. Since I run a very busy lawfirm, I was promsid a 5:00 install on a Friday. Of course, I was later told that was impossible and I had to haev the install on a Tuesday at 2:30. The installer failed to have the necessary passwords to perfom the install and my phojnes were down for hours costing me money.

Terrible contract for consumer plus bad service

They have a contract that even if you close down your business, you still have to pay them. If they make any changes to their contracts, they can post online and can switch you to auto renew, service is expensive, you never get what they sell yiu and they blame the service provider or the other carrier. Look at any other provider, except cbeyond, the sales man only cares about the 1 time commission they get and you certainly never reach them back. You can never talk to a supervisor, no wonder over the last few years they have lost customers left and right.

Cbeyond - read the small Print

Cbeyond is a very sneaky company. They have several clauses in their small print that the salesman never tell you about.

1. If you get a new cell phone, you are automatically signed up for 2 more years. Read the small print.

2. If you send in a cell phone under warranty and they issue a new phone, you are automatically signed up for 2 more years. Read the small print.

3. You must notify them 30 days prior to cancelling their service. Another item the sales people never tell you. Read the small print.

4. Even though you have changed service to another company, they will not acknowledge the change and they keep charging you, even though your phone numbers have been transferred to another carrier.

5. Their internet is only a T1, very slow!

1. 2 year contract for mobiles.....industry standard. Look at Verizon, Sprint, AT&T, etc......

2. Not true. You would have to fill out a contract to renew your services......just like all the other providers.

3. True. It's in the T's and C's of the service order contract. 30 day cancellation notice notifying Cbeyond. There's a $3k router on site that gives you VoIP. Cbeyond doesn't really want to lose many of those.

4. Your new carrier has the numbers ported over unless you didn't give Cbeyond a 30 day cancellation notice, and have an outstanding balance. . Look up Verizon, AT&T, and other ISP's on this site.....same thing right.

5. T1 is 1.5 mbps symmetrical. Cbeyond resells Ethernet and Fiber.....if available at your location. You may want to google bandwidth and learn how it works

Avoid Cbeyond

I do not know where to start with our company's story with Cbeyond. I guess the first thing I should do is admit that we made a huge mistake when when we changed form AT&T to Cbeyond. We were looking to save some money in these difficult times, but we ended up loosing customers and having to deal with some very angry ones because they could not communicate with us at all. We had problems with both the internet and phone service provided by Cbeyond. We lost phone service frequently and we had problems with dropped calls all the time and every time we experienced difficulties we had to call that horrible customer service of Cbeyond, remain on hold for at least 20 minutes at time, answered *** questions like giving them the telephone numbers and time of the dropped calls and wait, all just to get them to say that the problem was our internal wiring. The Internet service is as bad as the phone service, we had down Internet service daily and when the service came back it will work very slowly for 3 minutes max and it will die again. The response of CBeyonds customer service, after 20 minutes minimal holding time: start your computer again, you must have a virus. I could go on and on pointing out all the issues with this company,but to summarize I will just say AVOID Cbeyond if you want to stay in business and not having to say you are sorry to your customers. The end story: we are back were we started at with our old service provider and we are happy to pay their bill since they do provide a reliable service. One more thing, cancelling the contract with Cbeyond is an impossible mission, it has taken us more than 2 months of calls (with same waiting time), emails and faxes to put an end to our mistake of swtiching to Cbeyond. We spent 3 days tryghjing to send them the written temination request by fax, of course their fax is always busy and it does not work regular working hours. If you need to send them a termination notice try certified mail or send your fax at midnight eastern standard time.

Services not provided

Signed up with Cebeyond with the understanding that they would improve SEO, List my company locally, Create a website and host it. We also have phones and internet service with them, but my reason for switching, the website hosting, SEO, and local listing is a lot of baloney.

Customer service is horrible and whenever I call,someone shows up to sell me me something else. This company has been the worst company Ive ever dealt with. They overcharge, lock you in a contract and under deliver, and don't seem to care!! My last conversation had the rep telling me that all I needed was this $20.00 monthly upgrade and everything will be great!

C'mon.

Another rep offered cloud storage, another rep offered a 200.00 monthly upgrade. No assistance with the website, unless you want buy their website service.

The same thing happened with me. The reps, AMANDA and Matt should not be trusted, as they promised they would get top SEO for us; that's why I agreed to pay $300 more a month than my previous carrier.

BUt they couldn't do this, and my internet wasn't even working for first 2 months! The company denies any wrong doing.

Do not use Cbeyond

They cannot do what they say they can without you having to do expensive upgrades... Their sales people will tell you ANYTHING to get you to sign the contract. The customer service might as well not exist, and tech support... they have no clue. If they come to your company... turn them away!The high pressure sales people came to my store and stayed for over 8 hours! they would not leave. they kept saying that i had to sign today to get all the "special" offers that could make their overpriced product affordable. They made all kinds of promises about what their company could do, and then when it came time to deliver, they could do about half of what they said.
